In Progress
The Ecovillage
A 1500s masia and 16 hectares, turned into somewhere people live and work.
About
A 1500s masia and 16 hectares, bought in September 2026 by a founding group of four: an engineer, a biologist, a carpenter, and me. Part ecovillage, part rural tourism, aimed at remote workers who want to live somewhere with land and people in it. Nothing here ships in a month. Buildings that have stood for five hundred years, a financial plan, grant applications, and a timeline of fourteen years. I will be writing about it as it goes, including the parts that do not work.
Features
Somewhere to live, for people who work from anywhere
Not a retreat you book for a weekend. Homes for people who stay, restored one unit at a time.
Short stays that pay for the long ones
Rural tourism and events fund the restoration. The guests are what make the homes possible.
Privacy, and a community around it
A sauna, a workshop, a barn, land to walk. None of it worth owning alone, none of it yours to maintain alone. Your own door still closes.
The eco part, meant literally
Expanding the solar. Collecting rainwater and treating what we use on site. A vegetable garden, a natural pool, and land that gives something back rather than just sitting there.
A fourteen-year plan
Built from real supplier quotes, with grants where they fit. Each phase waits until it can be paid for.
